rotating line camera, is a
digital camera which uses a linear
CCD array (called "the line") to assemble a digital image during a rotation of the camera, line by line. The CCD array can actually consist of three sensor lines, each for one color channel (Red, Green, and Blue). Advanced rotating line cameras can have multiple (for example, two or three) such linear CCD arrays on a focal plate, thus capturing multiple panoramic images during their rotation.
